BTnet is a premium internet connection. You get exceptional service with guaranteed speeds from 10Mbps right up to a blisteringly fast 10Gbps.
For schools and colleges with many users needing to access the connection at the same time, a BTnet is a rock solid service that you can depend on, whether your users are all on site or connecting into resources remotely from home.
This award winning dedicated internet access is backed by around the clock support and industry leading SLA and comes in a variety of bearer sizes. From micro offices right up to larger corporations or universities supporting 100s or 1000s of users.
Wondering how a leased line and fibre broadband differs?
On BTnet, unlike fibre broadband you do not share bandwidth with anyone else so no matter what time of day your service will not slow down.
BTnet is a Dedicated Internet Access, sometimes referred to as a leased line, or ethernet leased line. It essentially provides access to bandwidth for your companies exclusive use. BTnet connects to much higher grade equipment in the exchange and throughout the network. You may have noticed that broadband that can fluctuate are different times of the day? On a BTnet this is not the case, you should get all the bandwidth you pay for 24/7.
For smaller offices or home working situations where downtime is not an option we also offer a lower cost, lower bandwidth, 1:1 leased line service called BTnet Express. It is delivered over GEA access in a similar way to FTTC or FTTP fibre broadband, however it does not connect to the fibre broadband platform, but to the same platform as its Ethernet big brother. You get the same support, rapid fix times, 100% uptime SLA and symmetrical access speeds just like the Ethernet Access Direct main BTnet service.

If there is a fault (which is extremely rare) BT aim to have it resolved in 5 hours. You get a 100% uptime SLA backed by a money back Service Level Guarantee from the first minute of downtime. And because it is symmetrical you get the same speed up and down.

If upgrading bearer or changing provider then you should expect an element of downtime when the service is swapped over as you will most likely get a replacement router. This could be anything between a few minutes to a couple of hours. The engineer and order manager however will work with you to establish a suitable time and date.

Lead times to provide new access circuits can typically vary between 45-90 working days depending on what work needs doing. An estimate of a completion date or “Customer Delivery Date” would be given after surveys have been completed.
