Dedicated internet
Overview
Not all providers services are the same. HM Network have over 10 years experience in dealing with the main Internet Service Providers. We can help cut through any marketing gloss and help you get the right type of dedicated internet for your organisations needs and budget.
Dedicated internet is sometimes referred to as a leased line, or ethernet leased line. Unlike broadband or fibre broadband, the bandwidth is not shared with other users. This means that you should get the bandwidth you pay for 24/7, and it should not vary at different times of the day. Because of this, the price of this type of service is more than fibre broadband that may, on the face of it, offer similar speeds.
We also offer a lower cost, un-contended leased line service, delivered over FTTC/FTTP. This is designed for home working situations where guaranteed bandwidth is required and uptime is absolutely essential.

Who is the service for?
Any organisation where internet uptime is mission critical.
Dedicated internet connections are for businesses and organisations who need more than broadband can offer. They are designed for situations where downtime is not an option. We have a large number of customers enjoying dedicated internet connectivity especially in SME, education and public sector.
Because of the reliability of dedicated internet, it is ideal for organisations running cloud / hosted voice / SIP trunks including call centres.
We can help you choose the right connection for your needs whether EoFTTC, EFM, or Ethernet Access Direct fibre over a choice of bearer sizes, with or without resilience options.

If upgrading bearer or changing provider then you should expect an element of downtime when the service is swapped over as you will most likely get a replacement router. This could be anything between a few minutes to a couple of hours. The engineer and order manager however will work with you to establish a suitable time and date.
This all depends on what needs doing. If flexing up bandwidth on a service already in place it can be as quick as 48 hours. Lead times to provide new access circuits can vary between 20 and 100 working days depending on what work needs doing. An estimate of a completion date or “Customer Delivery Date” would be given after surveys have been completed.
It doesn’t matter how many people you have online at the same time. With this dedicated internet you get the same upload and download speeds. We provide services on 100Mb, 500Mbps 1Gbps and 10Gbps bearers. You can choose any speed up to the size of your chosen bearer capacity. Because it’s truly unlimited, you can use it as much as you like. You can even flex your speed up or down, depending on your changing demands.
Our most popular dedicated connection service is backed up by a market-leading 100 per cent availability Service Level Agreement (SLA). We’re confident it won’t let you down. But in the rare event that something does go wrong, the UK-based support team is there for you 24/7. And we’ll do everything we can to get you back up and running within five hours.
It’s an internet connection that’s dedicated only to you and your business. You don’t share your connection with anyone else, so there’s no need to worry about busy periods, no matter what you’re doing: it’s reliability you can count on.
You have options of wires only, Cisco or Meraki routers. The Meraki option is aimed at SME and comes with a range of features that put you in control of your network.
