Based in the North West of England HM Network’s founders Chris Hunter & Martin McAleer met in 2007 while working as Data Specialists at BT. They helped hundreds of organisations benefit from next generation network connectivity during the rollout of the 21st Century “Next Generation” network. With a sharing a love for technology and cycling, a friendship developed which eventually lead to them to setting up their own company HM Network Ltd. They had always wanted to help customers do more with their connectivity, adding value and providing complimentary services, at HM Network this was now possible.

The public face of HM Network. Chris has plenty of experience in retail, leisure, telecoms, cyber security & data privacy, and knows the importance of relationship building, customer satisfaction.
Chris, hosted our GDPRexpress events to over 1,100 attendees featuring talks and workshops with some of our specialist partners.
Growing up in the 80’s technology excited him. He liked to understand how things worked, and how each element connected, this thirst for technology developend and translated nicely into providing solutions to connect businesses.
Martin McAleer
Managing DIRECTOR
Martin is our Managing Director. He has always had an interest in all things related to computers and electronics. Often found at the bleeding edge of technology. He studied electrical and electronic engineering at Preston College and then Preston Polytechnic (now The University of Central Lancashire). On leaving education he applied for, and was accepted into the RAF as an electronics technician, but never took up the post. He went on to work in various other roles until eventually returning to computer based work, when he joined UUNet (now Verizon Business). After leaving UUnet, Martin joined the team at the BT owned company Dabs, later BT Business Direct, where he met Chris Hunter.
