I have to admit, I got a little emotional earlier this week. An IT manager whom I have provided leased line internet connectivity to for over 15 years, emailed me to tell me he was about to retire.

I think it got me because I never just saw him as a customer. Over that period of time, you get to know one another. HM’s co founder and I have always been very hands on with our customers, and I think that is part of our appeal. We are not a big call centre or faceless corporation. You get real people, and more importantly people who care. You are not just seen as a number.

He wrote:
“Chris, it’s been an absolute pleasure working with you and Martin for more years than I can remember, you’ve been so helpful with every demand I have ever made and I’II always remember that. You’re a rare breed in today’s world, but keep it up it really does make a difference..”
